Operation Christmas Child

Every year we invite church attendees to contribute to Operation Christmas Child.

Through this program, Samaritan’s Purse sends gift-filled Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes to children in need around the world with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Stop by our Church foyer any Sunday in early November to pick up box(es) to fill. Boxes need to be returned to us or another Operation Christmas Child location by mid-November.

Christmas Family Festival Event

Each year at Christmas we partner with Serve6.8’s Adopt-A-Family outreach program to engage our neighbors with the love and presence of Jesus. Families who need support need to register their family ahead of time at a Serve6.8 Resource Center. Ours is open from 1:00pm - 3:00pm on Thursdays in our church gym. Church members can then choose gifts to purchase off the Giving Tree located in our foyer in the weeks leading up to the Christmas Family Festival. Registered families then attend the Christmas Family Festival night so parents can wrap gifts, among other activities for the whole family. More details below.

Fun & Gifts that Unveil the Reason for the Season

We welcome over 100 families to JOIN us in a meal together, family portrait and photo booths, fun crafts and songs, and an opportunity to hear and receive the gospel of Jesus. When families register, parents share some info about their kids so that we can pack gifts especially for each child. Parents receive these gifts at this event so that they can wrap them up and give them to their kids on Christmas morning. Volunteers get to serve AND join the fun with our neighbors. It’s a highlight of the season!

Family-friendly Christmas Eve Service

During our Christmas Eve Service, children stay with their families in the sanctuary. The service is only 45 minutes or so, which includes singing Christmas songs and lighting candles. We prepare age-appropriate activity bags to keep kiddos occupied during the service and help them understand the true meaning of Christmas.

FAQs

Is Childcare provided on Christmas Eve?

No. Christmas Eve is a family service at LifePoint! Children of all ages are welcome and included in the service. We know that means a little extra noise and movement in the sanctuary. We feel it is important for everyone to be included, and to give our childcare workers time to be with their family as well.

How long is the Christmas Eve service?

45-50 minutes.

How many Christmas Eve services do you have?

We have one Christmas Eve service at 4:30pm on Christmas Eve (December 24th).

Do you use real candles for the Candlelight Service?

Yes! Candles are provided, along with no-drip handles. Please be careful with them when they are lit, and drop them in the bins as you exit the service.

What should I wear to the Christmas Eve Service?

The dress code for Christmas Eve Service is up to you! Some people like to come totally decked out in their Christmas best. Some come casual. We’d love to see you however you feel comfortable.

How do I sign up to participate and receive Christmas gifts for my kids?

To sign up, you must come to one of the Serve 6.8 Resource Centers in person. Find times & locations for Serve 6.8 Resource Centers here.

Who can sign up to participate and receive help?

This is for anyone who could use a little help this Christmas! Simply come to a resource center to register in-person. You must provide your contact information, but there are no income requirements or verifications. If you could use some help, we would love to bless you this Christmas!

How do I sign up to serve?

Fill out this form & tell us what you're interested in helping with.

How long is the event? Do I need to stay the whole time?

For volunteers, the event is from 4:45-8:00pm, though we hope to be cleaned up sooner. When you register to volunteer, simply let us know if you have schedule limitations!
For guests, the family night is open from 5:30-7pm. As long as you arrive during that time you will be able to pick up your gifts! After you register we will share more details. Stay for the whole night, or come for just a little bit, it’s up to you!

If I can’t come to the event, how can I receive my gifts?

When you register, you will receive information on what to do if you cannot make it to the event.
