Local Outreach, Driven by Our Mission

Jesus’ Great commission from Matthew 28 is our mission, restated for today and Northern Colorado: LifePointe exists to glorify God and make gospel-driven disciples by Engaging people in the unexpected joy of a life more and more dependent on Jesus.

Local outreach at LifePointe expresses a love for our neighbors that drives us to share the joy of growing more and more dependent on Jesus.

A Christ-like Presence with Neighbors in Need

Much of our local outreach for neighbors in need is in partnership with three local ministry organizations: Serve6.8, The Alpha Center, and Fort Collins Rescue Mission. We join these ministries by giving both volunteer hours and regular financial support.

Serve6.8

SERVE 6.8 exists to mobilize, resource and connect the local Church to meet needs in its local community. Their Jesus-centered response to poverty makes them an ideal partner for us in the church as we seek to have a Christ-like presence with our neighbors in need.

We host a weekly resource center (Thursdays, 1pm-3pm)  in partnership with Serve6.8. Anyone who needs help can walk-in and receive food, clothing, and connect with our Care Team to explore options for financial assistance, spiritual care, and budgeting help.

Through Serve6.8 we also host annual outreach events during the holidays, inviting families to join us for a fun evening Christmas party where we share the good news of the gospel and provide Christmas gifts for parents to give to their children.

Fort Collins Rescue Mission

The Fort Collins Rescue Mission is changing lives in the name of Christ by meeting people at their physical and spiritual points of need with the goal of returning them to society as productive, self-sufficient citizens. Their vision is to, through the power of Christ, work to bring an end to homelessness in Northern Colorado, one life at a time.
Beyond regular financial support from our Benevolence Ministry, a number of LifePointe volunteers have helped lead worship services and Bible studies at the Fort Collins Rescue Mission, as well as volunteer as one-on-one mentors.

Who can get help from the Benevolence Ministry?

The Benevolence Ministry is primarily intended for those who call LifePointe Church “home” or neighbors who have been personally referred by a member of the church. This is because our ability to help financially—in ways that are healthy and honor Scripture’s instructions for this kind of ministry—rests on the depth of relationship the church has with the applicant.

How do I apply for help?

Complete the Benevolence Ministry Request Form and submit it to the front office either in-person or by emailing it to staff@sharethelife.org, along with the documentation requested.

Is it confidential?

Yes, your request will be handled confidentially.

How long does it take to apply for Benevolence help?

Requests are received by the office, then reviewed by the Benevolence Ministry Team. They may ask some questions or request additional documentation. We aim to handle all benevolence requests within 3 days.

Does the church budget funds for the Benevolence Ministry?

No; the Benevolence Ministry is funded by special donations only.

Should I direct all of my giving to the Benevolence Ministry?

For those who call LifePointe home, we recommend prayerfully creating a giving plan that prioritizes the bulk of your regular giving to the general offering, with a smaller portion designated for the Benevolence Ministry.
