Our mission is to elevate God's glory over ours through Gospel-Centered Worship. We accomplish this by serving the Body through Undistracting Excellence and maintaining a posture of Unapologetic Humility.
What is worship like at LifePoint?
Theologian I. H. Marshall once wrote that worship is a human response to a gracious God. That response only makes sense in light of what he's already done, which is why worship for us always starts with the gospel before it starts with a song.
On a Sunday morning in Fort Collins, that looks like a room full of ordinary people singing Christian worship music together. Modern hymns, contemporary praise and worship songs, and the kind of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that have carried the church for two thousand years, now sung by people who don't have it all figured out.
"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."
Psalm 100:1-3 ESV
Jesus told the woman at the well that true worshipers would worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. That's still the goal here. Not a performance, not a mood, but people responding honestly to who God is.
Whether you're curious, skeptical, hurting, or already following Jesus, you're welcome exactly as you are.
One Team. Two Expressions.
Sunday Worship at LifePoint is shaped by two teams working as one.
The Worship Band leads the room in song. Vocalists, musicians, and worship leaders who prepare all week so Sunday morning feels unhurried and unified. Author Bob Kauflin describes a worship leader's job this way: to magnify the greatness of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit by skillfully combining God's Word with music, thereby motivating the gathered church to proclaim the gospel. (Bob Kauflin, Worship Matters)
Worship Media is the team behind the scenes making sure nothing gets in the way of that moment. Sound, lighting, video, and visuals, all working so the room can focus on God without distraction.
Different instruments. Same mission.

A Different Kind of Joy
Paul told the church in Rome to offer their whole lives as a living sacrifice, and not be shaped by the pattern of this world. That's not the usual math. Culture tells us joy comes from more freedom, more self, more control. Scripture tells a stranger story. Joy comes through surrender.
This is what we mean by the unexpected joy of a life more and more dependent on Jesus. Not joy despite dependence, but joy because of it. It might not make sense yet, and that's more than okay. Come and see for yourself.
"Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things."
Revelation 4:11 ESV
"But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” John 4:23 ESV

FAQ
What kind of music does LifePoint sing?
A mix of modern worship songs, CCM, and modern hymns. Music chosen for its sound and its substance. Hebrews calls singing a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that acknowledge God's name. That's still what we're doing when we sing on Sunday morning.
Do I need to know the songs before I come?
No. Lyrics are always on screen, and many of the songs we sing are already popular across contemporary Christian music.
Is the music loud?
The music is loud enough to hear and engage, but not too loud that it distracts from why we gather. Expect a full band and an energetic sound.
Do I have to sing or participate a certain way?
No. Some people raise their hands, some sing, and some just listen. We encourage everyone to participate in Gospel-centered worship however you are most comfortable.
I'm not a Christian. Is it weird for me to be there during worship?
Not at all. Many people visit LifePoint long before they'd call themselves a Christian. Worship is simply our response to who God is. You're welcome to just be there and take it in.
What happens with my kids during worship?
For infants through preschool-age children, check in starts at 9:15 before service starts, so if you choose to send your kiddos to their class for first hour, they will not be in the sanctuary for worship service. Elementary-age children stay with us in the service for our worship songs and are dismissed to Children's Church before the sermon begins.
Does LifePoint write their own worship songs?
Yes, and it's something we're growing in. Some of the songs we sing were written by people in our own church family, for our friends, neighbors, and community. Peter wrote that we exist to proclaim the excellencies of the one who called us into his light. Writing and singing our own songs is one way we get to do exactly that, together.
How do I get involved with the Worship Band or Worship Media Teams?
Reach out and we'll walk you through it. Most people who join our team started with a conversation, not a form. Don't hesitate to just say hi.
If you're ready to apply to join the team, see application information here.
What's a click track, and will I have to use one?
Yes. Our band plays along with a click and backing tracks with guide vocals so the whole team stays locked in together. If you've never used one, that's okay. Our team will help you learn.
How much time does serving on the worship team take?
Team members commit to weekly rehearsals and serving on Sunday mornings, along with personal practice during the week.
Do I have to be a member of LifePoint to serve?
You'll need to be an active member, or actively pursuing membership, and in agreement with our statement of faith.
